I guess destiny has a plan for me after all...
Mood:
I think it's getting boring me starting off each entry with "Cripes it's hot in here". But it IS! If we haven't beaten any records yet, today is the day. I've been sssooo damn productive though, despite the heat. Yesterday was insane as well. I hung out at Red's and we went for a walk down to the beach in the evening with his parents. We went to that secluded beach again at around 6 and it was SWEALTERING hot. As soon as you stepped out of the water the heat overwhealmed you. I also NEED to buy some good beach shoes. All rubber and a bit more "off-road" so I'm not afraid to scuff them or anything like the white ones I have.
I only need to use them when the tide is in so I don't kill my feet on rocks and barnacles.
Otherwise today has been pretty simple. Woke up rather early. This time the sun was literally cooking my legs alive so I decided to get up before they melted away. Thank gd I'm tanned so it makes no differance. If I was my white self my legs would be burned. The deck is cooking, I had my fan on the entire day, everything's sticky. I don't even feel like MOVING, that's probably why I've been so productive. I only get up to get something to drink and go to the bathroom... except for my mom's incessant calling me.
She must have gotten the mail and she's like, "There's something here for you!" I was like, "WHO CARES." *Works away*. Then she called again and again and again so by now I'm getting annoyed and she's like, "It's from UBC, I think you got in." I was like, yeah right. But I finally went downstairs to open this huge elvelope and the letter and I only got through reading the first line, "We'd like to congratulate you on your acceptance to UBC --" then I missed the whole thing while I jumped around the kitchen, and then some, "Welcome to UBC!" And then something about my year being a successful one. I mean, holy fuck.
I didn't even tell anyone yet, well except for my mom who was there sort of congratulating me and saying how much I'd enjoy this new field. Damn. So I'm excited. I thougth my heart would jump out of my chest. Excited, freaked out, excited some more... damn. I better go finish some more work. But at least things worked out. I'll get my laptop soon. Looks like I found it JUST in time. Alas, no dog though, not until I finish school, but that's all right. I'll just pamper Bandit, and as far as car goes, Red gave me THE best idea over the weekend. My parents want to get another car soon (will most likely happen before I go to school). BUT my mom doesn't want to pay for 2 insurances, so she plans to only take out a leisure insurance on the new car, but I'll make her buy 2, and I'll pay for one and gas so I will have my very own car to take to school!
11:04 p.m. - Migrane time.
I was wondering why I haven't gotten any headaches, YET. So here's one, somewhere around the corner. Looks like it'll be a light sensative one, ouch. One thing that really bothers me about migranes, unlike headaches you can't do anything about them. You can't just drink a ton of water (since MOST headaches are caused by dehydration), and you can't go relax (some are caused by tension), or try to do an activity or take blood pressure reducing drugs... nope, if it's going to happen it's going to happen. The ONLY thing you can do is take "pain dulling" drugs and hope it works for however many hours it's supposed to work. I ALWAYS carry Advil with me.
Gd I've had SUCH an intensly productive day! Tons of work, trying to look for laptop/keyboard & mouse info, do workouts and check off some UBC "To Do" stuff off of my FYI guide. I paid my $100.00 deposit fee and registered for an e-mail account so now I'm basically all ready to register for courses tomorrow. Red was nice enough to say he'd come over right away to help me out. I'm so glad I have both him and his brother to sort of "show me the way", and of course Tina, since she will soon be the only person I know who is about to graduate from uni. It's exciting.
I think my next few steps are to try and register for parking (or at least find out how that works), then get a library card. I have to ask Tina if they finally decided to reinburse bus passes. I heard something about UBC covering part of the cost so you only need to pay like 20 bux or something. In which case I MIGHT consider taking the bus. Oh and insurance. I'm fully covered for MSP but I have to pay for dental so I can finally get my teeth cleaned. Now I won't have to pay 180 bux.
Today's workouts:
Upper body weights (15 minutes) (with 10 lbs)
Walk (60 min)
And I thought I'd share a pic of my soon-to-be computer. I'm so excited. If I can get one of the 4 ones that are in Vancouver (if they're not sold out already), I could have it as early as end of this week, maybe Thursday. Damn *jumps around*.
Note: The link to this laptop is the consumer version mainly for pix. I'm getting the business version which is slightly different looks-wise and different specs etc., but it's close enough.
Mmmmmm... I love technology.
