School.
Mood:
I don't remember what the hell I said about the exact school dates, but I'm going in September. Damn... the news came a little late but I gotta deal with it. That was the bad news, the good news is, I AM dealing with it. Thanks in large part to Red. He came over right the next day and we started signing up for courses. Then ended up with a few questions which we took care of the next day. Aparently I'm exactly where I should be. Signed up for all of my requirements, on the waiting list for both English courses which SHOULD open up new classes once the waiting lists fill up, and Red found out that Psych 100 is aparently equivalent to Psych 101 AND 102, so you only DO need to take 100, which is insane (but makes sense since it's a 6 credit course and 101, 102 are both 3).
One last thing to deal with is French. I finally found the real number to phone the "Russian & Slovaki" language professor. This time I got an answering machine at least so I left a message. I'll keep phoning every day until I get her on the phone and can ask her some questions. I want to either take the test or take the course, either one. If I end up taking the test though and passing then damn, I get to go into Psych 205, thanx to the nice people in the Psych department (who said they'd force me into the course since I want to major in Psychology).
I need to ask Tina what her schedule is, and if she got her UPass and how to go about that, or if it's worth it. The site is so damn useless. They said the UPass entitles you to access to busses and skytrains and everything else for 20 bux but they didn't say if it's 20 bux for the entire YEAR and you no longer EVER need to buy tickets/passes or if it gives you discounts or WHAT? Then when Red takes me to campus (once we finalize the schedule), we'll go looking at where my classes are and buy books and finally September 2nd is 1st Year Student orientation. I also need to ask what Tina's schedule is like so we can meet up and talk and everything.
So much to do, also must look into another battery for the laptop and case and network... damn, too much mulah to spend, hehehe. Oh and school supplies. For some odd reason though I am finally starting to feel less overwhealmed and a lot more excited. Because of what Red did for me I am thus far going to school every other day which basically leaves a LOT of room for homework and work. I don't really care about a social life since, lets face it, I have none now. Not to mention I'm a recluse/hermit. I'd rather just hang out with Tina after school or something.
I'll have a full year though. The 3 days are hectic. No time for a break (I think 1st semester I don't even get a LUNCH break... or was that second semester?). But I'm willing to rough it out. It's not even THAT despicable. I eat on the run anyway and I prefer eating WHILE I work and Red said you can eat in lecture halls supposedly. So that leaves me with an 8 am start and 3 pm finish for Monday and Friday and a 5 pm finish for Wednesday (that is, the way my current schedule stands, with French).
Next term is an 9 am start and same finishes, 2 days are 3 pm and Wednesday is 5 pm. Considering the fact that I had to go 4 times and last year last semester of CDIS was 5 times per week, I had to go to school on Saturday AND one of my days went from 9 am until 10 PM, and MOST of my courses for last year finished at either 7:30, 9:30 or 10... I can't truly say I'm an unhappy person here. Oh wait... lets not forget the 5 hour break between classes I had at ONE point! This time, even if I DID end up with a despicable schedule I'd have my new laptop to keep me company. I actually named it "Trinity", so in case I say "Trinity" instead of "lap top", that's what it means ;) I love this little baby. It's not a happy puppy though. We suspect the power cord is broken so I can't juice it up. SUPPOSEDLY HP is going to ship us a brand spanking new one tomorrow so we can test it over the weekend. If THAT doesn't work then the laptop has to go in for servicing. THAT would suck major ass, however, I'm glad this happened now and not first day of school.
Uhhh... maybe I should go look for cases for it though. I have a KICK ass "off-road" bag to carry it in *goes to see if it fits in there*... but I still want like a jacket type protective case so I can carry it using a handle because I keep thinking it'll slip out of my hand because it's so damn thin there's nothing to grab onto!
Ok, must go do that then, maybe tomorrow I'll write something a little more personal.
